Responsibilities

- Planning and studying of horizontal expansion projects;

- Designing and executing plans of horizontal expansion projects.

Achievements

-Reclamation of nearly 245,000 feddans via surface water;

-Reclamation of nearly 82,000 feddans using ground water.

Future Plans

-Reclamation of about 2 million feddans using surface water;

-Reclamation of nearly 610,000 feddans by use of ground water;

-Reclamation of about 250,000 feddans using drainage water.

The Horizontal Expansion Projects Sector comprises the following central departments:

-          - The Central Department of Horizontal Expansion Projects;

-          - The Central Department of South Valley Projects (Toshka).
