The National Project for the Rehabilitation of Canals is one of the most prominent national projects in Egypt. It aims to bring about a qualitative leap in the management of water resources and improve the efficiency of water transfer and distribution by restoring the water cross-section of the canals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Ensuring water reaches the tail ends leads to reducing farmers’ complaints and improving agricultural productivity. The project also contributes to reducing the annual costs of dredging and maintenance.<\/strong>

– The project contributes to improving the rural environment, ensuring equitable distribution of water among farmers, enhancing the civilized appearance of rural areas, and supporting stability by guaranteeing water delivery to agricultural lands at the tail ends of deteriorated canals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Environmental Dimension of the Project<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

– The canal rehabilitation project contributes to improving the efficiency of water transfer and distribution, in addition to enhancing water quality and reducing the accumulation of weeds and waste in waterways. This limits the spread of diseases and insects, thereby improving public health and the surrounding environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Relationship of the Project to Climate Change:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
