Water Infrastructure Development Projects

New Bahr Moais Head Regulator Project

A water infrastructure project aimed at improving water control, facilitating water distribution balancing, and enhancing the management of water flows through the construction of a new head regulator on Bahr Moais in Qalyubia Governorate.

New Bahr Moais Head Regulator Project

Project Overview

The project is located approximately 1.50 km from Kafr Moais, in Banha, Qalyubia Governorate. The new regulator is situated at the head of Bahr Moais, which branches off the Tawfiqi Rayah at km 35.00 on the right bank, approximately 580 metres downstream of the existing head regulator.

The new regulator was planned in response to the age and deteriorating structural condition of the existing regulator, originally constructed in 1888. The existing structure plays an important role in supplying freshwater to Sharqia Governorate and parts of the Canal Governorates, including Ismailia and Port Said.

The project aims to facilitate water distribution balancing, improve control over water flows, and maximise the efficient use of available water resources.

Main Objective

Improve water flow control, facilitate water distribution balancing, and maximise the efficient use of water resources.
