Ministry of Irrigation (2011–2012): – Head of the Nile Water Sector
– Developed Egyptian irrigation in Sudan.
– Established foundations for bilateral cooperation with Nile Basin countries.
– Led the Egyptian negotiation team for the terms of reference of the first International Tripartite Committee for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), forming the Egyptian negotiation team and selecting international experts, concluding with Ethiopia, Sudan, and international experts acknowledging incomplete GERD studies.
– Developed a strategy for addressing the GERD issue and engaging with Nile Basin countries.
– Restructured the Nile Water Sector.
– Headed the Egyptian side in the Joint Technical Committee for Nile
Waters.
– Represented Egypt at the World Water Council and the World Meteorological Organization.
Ministry of Irrigation (1990-2005):
– Represented Egypt in the Regional Technical Committee for the Early Warning Flood Project in the Eastern Nile Basin.
– Contributed to the preparation of the National Water Plan.
– Participated in developing a water distribution simulation model for canals and the operation of the High Dam.
– Established and managed the Flood Forecasting Center.
– Managed the Nasser Lake Control Project during drought and flood periods, adapting to climate changes.
– Directed the National Project for Water Quantity and Quality Management.
– Established the Geographic Information Center.
– Trainer at the Ministry’s Training Center in water resources management, hydrological models, remote sensing, Nile Basin hydrology, project management, and quality management.
– Organized and attended over 100 workshops and conferences on water resources management.
National Bank of Egypt (2009-2016):
– Head of the Projects and Construction Sector.
– Established the bank’s branch in Sudan and an office of the bank in Ethiopia.
– Founded the bank’s agricultural investment company in Ethiopia.
– Developed bank branches, completing 400 projects and increasing the number of branches.
Eastern Nile Technical Regional Office (ENTRO) (2006-2008):
– Regional Coordinator for ENTRO’s Early Warning Flood Projects.
– Managed and planned water resources, addressed climate change, and participated in projects for electrical interconnection, hydropower, irrigation, river basin protection from erosion, and community participation.

– Selected as Africa’s representative in the Next Generation of Water Group at the 2001 World Water Conference.
– Worked as a consultant for FAO, CEDARE, UNESCO, Nile Basin Initiative, German Development Agency, World Bank, Nile Basin Capacity Building Network, IFAD, and as an arbitrator at the Academy of Scientific Research in water resources management, climate change, flood forecasting, and hydrology.
– Participated in over 30 global water conferences.
– Contributed to Sudan’s strategy for addressing climate change.
